Preparing for Travel

Only 12 days until we are Zambia bound! There is a really simple piano piece that I love called "Preparing for Travel" it has some light and joyful (and yet hurried) segments interspersed with smoother chords undercut with an deep urgent rhythm- this is what preparing for the trip has been like. We have fun and joyful times of meeting with our group (and other groups traveling in May) to discuss cross cultural interactions, to pick up some supplies to deliver to the hospital. And there are long hours of studying (or grading) with an urgency- knowing there is limited time before we go, and we must be prepared!

The Group Getting Ready for Zambia 2013!
The good thing is, we're in luck! Drs. Mylin and Thuma have made plans to get us to Zambia, to teach us about healthcare, and to keep us all safe and sound (AND, importantly to have fun and learn!). I will be keeping a blog of the trip, and will update it as regularly as possible so that even if you don't hear from people on the trip personally, you will be able to follow what's been going on.
